Hi! I’m Kirby Poh. And this is my experience timeline

Started offering affordable freelance web development services using pre-made templates to make quality websites accessible to all Singapore SMEs. Because every business deserves a great online presence, regardless of budget.

Narrowed our service offering to focus exclusively on web design and development of corporate websites and e-commerce websites targeting SME customers. Sometimes doing less means achieving more.

Co-founded a boutique digital marketing agency, Emerge mLab, specialising in WordPress web development, SEO and Google Ads. Focus on helping Singapore SMEs transform their websites into lead generation engines.

Made a career switch after considering how to leverage my design ability, business and marketing know-how and project management experience. Decided to embark on digital marketing by learning WordPress, SEO and other essentials.

Started running Google AdWords campaigns to generate sales leads for my IT company. Building microsites and testing what actually converts visitors into customers. The learning curve was steep but worth it.

Launched email campaigns with 3X industry average open rates for my IT business. The start of my digital marketing journey. Success came from understanding consumer behaviour and persuasive writing.

16 years running my own IT services firm. Managed all aspects of the business and expanded into Malaysia and Vietnam. From hiring staff to consultative selling to chasing payments – been there, done that.

Started in F&B operations and franchise development. Learned project management and business systems while working under pressure. Nothing teaches you about deadlines like building a restaurant!

Acquired a business degree specialising in marketing. While I had artistic abilities, I found myself more fascinated by how businesses actually work – especially the marketing side of things. This curiosity would prove invaluable later on.

Art ability was discovered in my early teens. My art teacher saw something special and urged me to join the Art Elective Programme – this design foundation would later prove essential when creating good website designs and aesthetics.
